Why i like Messi?

Why I like Messi?
I am often asked this question .Well this is how it begins. I started supporting Barca in 2006. It was fifa that made me aware of a team called Barcelona albeit it wasn't fifa 06 it was fifa 99. The likes of Rivaldo, Figo, Guardiola, luis enrique made me a Barca fan.I was told about Messi by my friend Jeet Desai.
After Jeet told me about Messi, I started watching the little magician closely. These are my observations: Messi represents values like humility, responsibility, innocence & child like enthusiasm for what he does. These are the qualities I would like to emulate, his two qualities that impress me the most are that: he always puts his team before him and he doesn't need external factors to motivate him. He doesn't need to compete with Ronaldo to motivate himself. He loves football and that is all he needs. This is a quality of his that has worked wonders for him. As long as he has a ball at his feet he will be happy he doesn't need trophies and this is evident from the genuine smile Messi had on his face when Ronaldo won the ballon d'or

Football fans are infamous for arguing on "Who is the best player in the world?". One day my friend and I were arguing on the same topic (My friend is a Ronaldo fan). So my friend said "Ronaldo has great height, good physique, fantastic free kicks, scorching penalties, awesome long shots, great speed. Physically he is two times better than Messi. To be truthful my friend was correct, but that day I learnt one more quality of Messi and that was " your I-can is more important than your physical or mental ability". After learning of this quality of Messi my respect for him increased to an even higher level.

Concluding this topic all I have to say is that when boys reach adolescence they usually find themselves lost in life. This is the stage when they need a role model. I was in the same stage and I had started developing notions like the "World is very bad and if you want to win you have to be wicked", but when I saw Messi I had a paradigm shift and I came out of the miserable state I was in. I am truly grateful to the "little magician" for that and this is the reason why I like Messi so much.
